Clemson University
It’s Howard’s Rock. The Hill. The most exciting 25 seconds in college football. The triumphant refrains of “Tiger Rag.” And 81,500 orange-clad fans packing Memorial Stadium, cheering on their beloved Tigers with a collective roar that echoes through the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the home of Clemson football. This is Death Valley. And this tradition will never go out of style.

Clemson’s paw logo is over 40 years old and has become one of the most recognized emblems in collegiate sports. In creating the logo, artists based their design on a cast of an actual tiger’s paw loaned from Chicago’s Museum of Natural History. The indentation at the bottom of Clemson’s paw logo reflects scar tissue that was on the original tiger’s paw from that borrowed cast.
