Style Facts:
NAU’s mascot, Louie the Lumberjack, has been used since 1915 and is a nod to Flagstaff’s early days as a booming timber town. And though his image has changed several times over the years, Louie still carries an axe to symbolize the area’s timber background. NAU’s official school colors, navy blue and sage green, also nod to Flagstaff’s mountainous region and surrounding pine forests, although NAU’s athletic teams proudly wear blue and gold.
