Style Facts:
The Cincinnati Bearcats were born on October 31, 1914 during a football game against the Kentucky Wildcats. In cheering for Cincinnati’s fullback Leonard “Teddy” Baehr, a chant began that said, “They may be Wildcats, but we have a Baehr-cat on our side.” The name stuck. Although to this day there is no definitive example of what a Bearcat in the wild actually is — some believe it could be a Red Panda, while others think it could be a rare animal called a Binturong.
