Villanova University
Most know Villanova for their basketball prowess. But Wildcat football has been around for more than a century. In fact, the team used a live bobcat named Count Villan as its mascot for football games until 1950. Famous program alumni include Howie Long and Brian Westbrook. Nowadays, the ’Cats play in the competitive Colonial Athletic Association conference league. The ’Cats even won a National Championship in 2009.

For Villanova’s 2013 “Battle of the Blue” game against Delaware, the ’Cats wore throwback helmets. On the left side of the helmet is ’Cats written in script. The team wore this helmet in the late 1970s and 1980. The right side of the helmet features the “V” logo that was worn by the teams in the early to mid-90s.
