Washington State University
Cougar faithful tune into ESPN’s College GameDay every Saturday morning. And it’s not because the program is being broadcast from WSU. It’s because every week since 2003, an organized pack of Cougars places the WSU flag in view of the GameDay cameras regardless of the broadcast location. Back in Pullman, every touchdown and Cougar win is celebrated with a shot from the Cougar Cannon — a “Pack-75” 75mm Towed Howitzer. The blast can be seen, heard and felt by everyone in and around Martin Stadium. Especially during the Apple Cup.

The first school colors were pink and blue. Legend has it, the first WSU president chose these colors because he was so in awe of the blue and pink sunsets of the Palouse. A student election in 1900 changed the school colors to their current crimson and gray.
